About The Event
Ingredients
- 2-3 tablespoons of chopped dill
- 16 oz bag of frozen peas
- 16 oz bag of carrots, chopped
- 15 oz can of chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup olive oil (or more if you like olive oil)
- 1/4 cup water
- Dash of salt to your liking
- Feta cheese and bread for after cooking to add to the dish (optional)
- Chopped fresh scallion or onion (optional)
Chef’s Notes
- Araka is a common dish in Greek homes and is often served as a meal with feta cheese and bread
- It is not as common in restaurants in the United States but you will find it in restaurants in Greece, especially in the villages
- This dish can be altered to your liking. You can add more or less olive oil or even no olive oil. If you love dill, you can overload it on dill. You can also add potatoes or artichokes to it.
- Sometimes it tastes even better on the second day when you heat up leftovers
